A quieter day…

And much less walking!

On Sunday we walked 10.8km, on Monday we walked 12.2km and today, only 6km.

Bert had an early appointment to get his residency sorted; a necessary part of securing a loan locally to purchase a property here (fingers crossed!).
Afterwards, we ate out for breakfast, then walked to our old neighbourhood, the 5th district, and chose a ring each to be custom made from Wladis Galéria. We did a bit of shopping, walked some more, and came back to the apartment to relax. B is coming down with something and my legs are aching so much I’m having an afternoon bath!! (Drinking a coffee in the bath is awesome, by the way.)
It’s tricky when you’re traveling, you feel you should be on the go all day every day, but sometimes you do need a rest. It is a holiday, after all!
Here are a few photos from today.

The building we’re staying in. Not too flash on the outside but the apartment is beautifully renovated inside.

We lived on this street two years ago. This is a statue of the actor Peter Falk. The street is Falk Miksa street. They have nothing in common. It’s bizarre. The statue is new for us, so it was a novelty. File under ‘Slightly confusing‘.

I’m going to start a series called Bikes of Budapest. Stay tuned.

Drinking coffee in the bath. I have no shame.

Actually rumor says that Falk Miksa was the great grandaddy of Peter Falk.
